One of my favorite bakeries of all time is yesUmay , in Charleston, SC. There is something so amazing about their cookies that keeps me always running back for more. They’re light, fluffy and the perfect balance between salty and sweet.
Since I don’t live as close to the bakery as I used to, my friend Stefanie navigated me to one their recipes posted online {victory!}.
Meet the “Goodness Gracious” Triple Chocolate Cookie
ingredients:
1 1/2 c. of butter
3/4 c. dark brown sugar
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. kosher salt
2 c. dark chocolate chips
2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
sea salt, for sprinkling
——–
directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix butter with sugars and then add eggs and vanilla. Mix lightly.
Add cocoa, flour, baking soda, and kosher salt and mix with an electric mixer for 30 seconds.
Add chocolate chips.
Spray baking sheet with baking spray and spoon dough onto baking sheets.
Sprinkle sea salt on top. Bake 15-20 minutes, depending on the oven
side note: I have yet to make the icing and still love them.
If you’re looking for added sweetness, give the icing a shot!
———
With the consistency of a brownie and the added sea salt sprinkled on top, these have quickly become my go-to sweet treat and so easy to make that I find myself whipping them up for family and friends left and right.

I love the idea of using sea salt as an ingredient of these. I have always loved the taste of chocolate + salt (I actually dip french fries in chocolate milkshakes) so there is no doubt that I would adore these. Yum! 🙂

This sounds SO yummy! We actually just found out we’re expecting our first baby girl in late May and have decided on the name Teale Marie for her so your blog drew me in by the name. Glad I found it. =]
