tzatziki dip

Since I’m a self proclaimed snacker, I’m always on the hunt for new and healthy in-between-meal bites. Homemade greek salads are some of my favorite meals and when I saw this tzatziki inspired dip I had to give it a shot. It’s so refreshing, filling and can be served with everything from sliced cucumbers and red peppers to warm pita. If you’re hungry between lunch and dinner this is a great snack to hold you over until dinner.

ingredients:
1/3 c. greek yogurt
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp fresh dill, chopped
black pepper to taste (optional)

directions:
Mix the olive oil, fresh dill and black pepper (if you’re using it) into the yogurt. Serve with sliced cucumbers, red/yellow peppers or warm pita.

notes:
I played around with adding some freshly squeezed lemon and a teeny bit of minced garlic into the mixture and it’s just as good with a bit stronger flavor. Try it both ways!

Greek yogurt has so much protein and is so versatile! I love using it as a sour cream substitute. 🙂

This looks so fresh and delicious for a spring and summer snack! I actually never was a fan of cucumbers until recently, but always need them with some kind of dip! Great recipe 🙂

Made this last night – garlic and lemon juice are perfect compliments for it, too. I don’t think people realize how easy it is! So, so good.
