Beauty Favorites

I’m kicking off this week sharing a few of my summer beauty favorites! These are the tried and true products that I’ll be re-purchasing in the future and have stood the test of southern heat and humidity.

1/ Botanics All Bright Night Cream: Finding a great night cream that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg is harder than it should be. During the winter months I use oils (love this one) since my skin is combination/oily. In the summer I gravitate towards brightening products that are hydrating without being heavy. The Botanics line continues to impress me and this night cream is one I will definitely be purchasing again.

2/ COOLA Mineral Face Sunscreen: I’m embarrassed to admit how bad I used to be at wearing sunscreen every.single.day. Slathering on thick white lotion that felt like it clogged my pores and made me greasy within hours didn’t sound the least bit appealing. I’ve preached my love for Coola Sport Spray before, but this is the best face sunscreen I’ve found yet. You gently squeeze the tube while pressing the dispenser and out comes the lightest cream. All you need is a little bit for your neck/face and as soon as you put it on your skin it instantly sinks in. I put this on after my moisturizer and before my makeup (either this or this).

3/ Kiehl’s Recovery Eye Cream: Kiehl’s makes some of my favorite eye creams. In the winter I rely on this one to combat dry weather, but like the night cream I switch it up with the seasons. A tiny bit of this patted gently under each eye helps prevent puffiness and dark circles with a more lightweight consistency.

4/ Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion: Normally I grab any lotion that I have around the house for post-sun hydration. When I received a sample of this last month I tossed it in my bag and headed to Charleston for the 4th of July. After a littleeee too much time in the sun I smothered this on after the shower and have been hooked ever since. Unlike most sticky aloe, this lotion goes on smooth and has a cooling effect. Not to mention the smell. The coconut papaya smells amazing! Since  it’s a blend of silk protein and shea butter it makes a great everyday lotion too.

5/ Younique 3D Fiber Lash: After hearing my friend Sarah rave about this mascara I could’t wait to try test it out. Over the past month I’ve loved using this and am amazed at the results it gives. The bigger and longer the lashes the better! You still use your current mascara as a base, but once it dries you use the transplant gel and then the fibers. It makes my lashes appear fuller and pops against the rest of my makeup.

The hydrating lotion sounds amazing and refreshing – I am always guilty of getting a little too much sun! I’m the same way with night cream so might have to pick some of the botanics up!! xo

Ooohh I may need to try that sunscreen! I hate wearing it on my face because I feel like it clogs my pores but I am always looking for products that have a lighter feel.

I LOVE that after sun lotion! We always throw it in the refrigerator and it feels sooo good on burnt skin!

yes why is it hard to find a night cream that isn’t expensive that doesn’t feel like the cream actually goes into my skin or doesn’t leave me with whiteheads when I wake up in the morning, sounds like i need to this try!

I’m in need of some good eye cremes. I’m going to have to invest in some Kiehls. Also, my friend has been using that Younique mascara stuff. It does seem to work. I’ll have to ask her more about it.
