Day Designer

Before I purchase 90% of things I research them like crazy. I like to compare products, check for any specials and read the reviews. Whether it’s a nice new camera lens or a pair of earrings, I love hearing what consumer’s thoughts are. All though college I was an old fashioned planner type of girl. It was easy to toss in my school bag and fill in during class or meetings. However for the past four years of post-grad life it’s embarrassing how much I rely on my ical for reminders and events. I just couldn’t find a planner that met all of my needs. Erin Condren and Lilly Pulitzer’s were both great, but still didn’t have everything that I was looking for and I ended up back at my ical.

I almost re-declared myself an electronic planner girl, but stumbled upon Whitney English’s Day DesignerFinally a planner that has everything (and more) that I was looking for and here’s why…

Whitney EnglishI love that it has a hard cover and a heavy duty spine. This isn’t something that’s easily going to be bent or pages popping out of the spiral. Each package comes with a velvet pink ribbon that happens to make a perfect place marker.
Day Designer ReviewOpen it up and there’s a convenient side pocket for storing little notes, reminders, etc. There are gold tabs for each month down the right side of the planner.  Keeping things nice and organized from the beginning. Just the way I like it.
Day Designer InsideThe biggest feature to me is the daily breakdown. Each day gets its own page (hooray!) and a schedule by hour. Since I’m usually simultaneously making a to-do list, I love that this one is already built into the same page and I can check it off as I go. To keep priorities in check each day has “Today’s Top Three” where you can write down what you want/need to accomplish that day. In the bottom corner of the page is a “Daily Gratitude”  space which no matter how busy the day gets, always reminds me to take a deep breath and focus on what I’m thankful for. Month at a GlanceDon’t worry, there’s also a month-at-a-glance for the big picture planners.

The January – December edition goes on sale here on August 15th at 8 AM CST and is sure to sell out quickly.
Are any of y’all old fashioned planner girls or do you rely on your computer to keep you on track?

xx

I am guilty of being an electronic planner! I use my iCal and then my notes app on my phone for my to-do lists. I used to be an paper agenda girl in school as well, but I don’t know if I’ll ever switch back. Although, yours is a beauty! I kind of just want to get it for how pretty it is!!

Such a cute planner! I’m the same way before I buy stuff. I research like crazy! I want to make sure I get the right thing before I pay all the money!

I love the Whitney English planner. My only issue w mine is the size. And the weight. I love what it includes but it is not a grab and go. 🙂

I LOVE this breakdown. I’ve been toying with the idea of changing up my planner! I make a crazy amount of to-d lists and mini notes each week haha

I’ve adored this planner for a long time now, I love using them! Perhaps this should be added to my future Christmas list 🙂

Great planner – loving the daily breakdown, too. Paper and pen is my way to plan, as well and it’s always fun to get your next planner and fill it all in.

I feel like I was reading my own blog post. For the past few years I entered everything strictly in my Google calendar. But with my new job, I will be offsite and will need to jot down stuff quickly so I’m going to try out a good ol’ fashioned planner again. I was deciding between the Emily Ley Simplified Planner and the Kate Spade. Pulled the trigger on the KS and it will be arriving to my doorstep today!

I think when I’m done with my EC one I will be upgrading to this one because it’s just so gorgeous!

I love my Erin Condren one but I do complain that it feels like it’s getting bent every time I throw it into my bag. I love the daily gratitude section at the bottom of yours. What a great thing to remember each day!

I need this! I went with an Erin Condren planner last year and wasn’t too impressed. LOVE the to-do list section… and it’s just so cute!
