Florals_Fresh Blooms

2015 was one of my favorite years to date. Brian and I got married, finally stopped doing long distance (3 years!) and get to call Atlanta home together. We welcomed sweet little Oliver Greenwell to our family and have become puppy obsessed. Four of my best friends also got married this year and being able to celebrate with each of them was a blessing I’ll always cherish. I can’t think of anything more fulfilling than seeing the people you love most be happy, succeeding and embracing life.

Work has been the most rewarding year yet and something I feel so lucky to be doing. Getting to work with my family is something that I loved even more. My younger brother and cousin joined the industry and having them alongside me for trade shows and client meetings makes it extra special. Brian’s amazing work ethic and compassion for his patients is a quality that always makes my heart swell. Oncology is a specialization that can be filled with heartache and sadness, but I’m consistently amazed by his dedication to his patients and their wellbeing. He’s the type of doctor I pray anyone would have.

While I’m not huge on sticking to resolutions, I do love making a little list to remind me what I want to focus on for the upcoming year.

2016 Goals:

+ My girlfriends and I are determined to actually make a book club work this year. A book a month shouldn’t seem as difficult as it does, but with work and social media distractions it’s so easy to fall asleep scrolling Instagram than actually reading.

+ I’m of the mindset that quality over quantity purchases is always the way to go. Keeping that going through 2016 will help me avoid impulse buys and fill my homes with pieces that I truly love. No extra clutter is needed.

+ Travel as often as possible. With plans set to hit up Mammoth in February, Europe in April and Napa in September our calendar is already filled with exciting places, but I’m always up for exploring new spots. I want this next year to take me to new places even if it’s just a weekend spot in Georgia. Travel is good for the soul.

+ Continue to eat healthy and wisely. It’s no secret that I have a major sweet tooth, but I want to work on cutting out more processed foods. Life is about balance, so my desserts won’t be disappearing, but I want to focus on meal planning for the week ahead so lunches will be easy, healthy options that I can reach for without sacrificing nutrients for convenience.

+ Live in the present. I’m so easily distracted by the future : when we buy a house (where do we want to be?), when we have more time off work, etc. I want to focus more on the present and worry less about the future.

+ Grow Turquoise + Teale even more. What are y’all wanting to see more of? Health? Fitness? Fashion? I’d love to hear feedback from y’all!

To each of you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It means the world to me that you take time to visit this space that I love working on. 2015 was packed with amazing brand partnerships, meeting blogging friends and developing new content. When I first started this blog out of college I never imagined where it would be today. It was a space for my family and friends to keep up with my favorite recipes, fashion finds and travels, but has grown into so much more. Thank for you for supporting T&T and I’m so excited to see where 2016 takes this space.

xx

I love your fashion posts, but would love to see more health – either healthy eating or fitness posts in the future! I’d also love to see what your home looks like and how it’s decorated!

Sorry I’m a little late reading this post!! These are wonderful goals though!! 🙂 If you haven’t already, check out In Defense of Food. It is a show that I watched last week on PBS. It was really good. Maybe you should include a trip to Chicago on your travel list! 😉 Also, check out the Central Coast, my sister lives there and the wineries and scenery are gorgeous. Cheers to a fabulous 2016! 🙂
