outside dinner party

If you can’t tell by now, cooking is one of my favorite things to do. At the end of the day it helps me un-wind and let’s me get creative with our meals. When my girls over at Peaches in a Pod suggested that I share my favorite healthy cookbooks I loved the idea! While I do get a good portion of my recipes from my Pinterest boards, there are a few cookbooks that I constantly reach for. These make great gifts for any occasion and I love pairing them with a nice bottle of olive oil or cute serving ware for a hostess gift.

My Favorite Healthy Cookbooks:

Healthy Cookbook Skinnytaste The Skinnytaste Cookbook

I can confidently say I haven’t made one bad recipe of Gina’s. She shares tons of great recipes on her website, but the cookbook is packed with one’s you can’t find online. One of my favorite qualities of the book is that you’re not running from small, speciality grocery store to Whole Foods trying to hunt down weird ingredients that you’ve never heard of. Most of these ingredients you’ll likely already have on hand or they can easily be found at your local grocery store. It’s all flavorful food that’s still healthy for you.

Jamie Oliver Everyday SuperfoodEveryday Superfoods

On our flight back from Anguilla my mom and I got hooked on watching Jamie Oliver’s new tv show centered around cooking with superfoods that are found around the world. While I just can’t get on board with tofu (the consistency gets me every time), every other recipe in the book has me open to trying something brand new. He whips up a healthy spin on spaghetti carbonara, has a chapter devoted to healthy breakfast that I can’t wait to dive into and even desserts, because everyone needs some sweet in their life. I’ve only had this one a few weeks but can’t wait to cook my way through it!

Healthy Summer Cookbook

The Summer Table

Summertime is my favorite time to be outside, grilling tasty eats and pairing them with lots of fresh fruits and veggies. My ideal summer evening is dining al fresco with a glass of wine and a group of friends. Everything just seems so much more relaxed and the foods speaks for itself. This cookbook offers recipes that are perfect for just that. Fresh homemade tomato sauce, grilled artichokes, gnocchi salad with pecorino and pear- yes please!

CookbookSeriously Delish

Ok, so this one won’t be all healthy, but it’s too good not to share. I first picked up Jessica’s cookbook from the library, but knew I had to buy it when I was marking almost every recipe to try. There are great recipes for vegetarians, amazing desserts (chocolate and peanut butter brownies) and still lighter options like whole wheat banana bread. Any man in your life would be all over these recipes.

I’d love to know any of y’alls favorite healthy cookbooks or recipe sources!

xx

I love the SkinnyTaste website, but I do love getting my hands on a cookbook and getting it messy in the kitchen…it’s kind of like having a book with the library smell. I’ll check some of these out, thanks for sharing!
