Two Month Baby UpdateTwo months down and we’re feeling so much more rested! This past month Olivia has been smiling like crazy, gaining some serious head/neck strength and starting to get more and more talkative. We had her 2 month doctor’s appointment yesterday and she’s almost 10 pounds and now 22 inches! There are a few newborn Kissy Kissy gowns that fit her, but for the most part she’s in all 0-3 month clothing now. The cold weather tease we had recently made me realize I didn’t have many fall outfits for her. I ordered a handful of cute things from Zara baby (oh my gosh, they have the cutest stuff!), Candy Kirby Designs and Feather Baby. Her bow headband above is from this cute Etsy shop.

We’ve been generally following the Moms On Call schedule that so many of our friends recommended. Olivia eats every 2.5-3 hours during the day and at night her last feeding is between 8-8:30 PM, typically eating again around 3-4 AM. No day is the exact same and we just kind of go with it. She’ll start daycare 3 days a week in November and until then it’s a daily juggling act since I work full-time from my home office. The best way to describe how I feel on any given day is either completely overwhelmed or feeling like I’m superwoman handling it all. It’s chaotic, but we’re figuring out our routine and I absolutely adore having her as my cute little assistant everyday.

I’ve had lots of questions about how Oliver is doing around Olivia (tell me that’s not confusing with the names….) and I’m so thankful he’s been wonderful with her. If he hears her crying he’ll run over to her side and sit right by her or I’ll find him lying by her crib when she’s napping. It’s so sweet!

TWO MONTH FAVORITES:

+ BabyBjorn Bouncer: this bouncy seat is amazing for so many reasons; it’s lightweight and easy to move around, it folds flat and packs well and the seat cover is washable. Olivia kicks her little legs like crazy in this seat and loves sitting in it. We also have this removable wooden toy that we use with it.

+ BabyBjorn Travel Crib: we took this with us to Charleston earlier this month and are bringing it with us again when we go next week. It’s nice and compact and pops open in seconds. I love that it’s lightweight since a bulky travel crib is the last thing I want to lug around when on the go.

+ Baby K’Tan: I keep this in my car for grocery shopping  or errands when it’d be easier to wear Olivia instead of dealing with a stroller or carseat. Some of the other carriers were too complicated to figure out quickly, but I love that I can put her in this one without needing a mirror to see what I’m doing. I have it in the size x-small.

+ OCCObaby brush set: I love this brush set for attempting to tame Olivia’s crazy hair. The bristle brush is gentle enough to use on newborns and helps prevent cradle cap and is gentle on their soft spot. The brushes are made from eco-friendly solid beech wood and are a great quality. It’d be a perfect gift idea!
