Family Beach Essentials

Living in Charleston with two kids has really helped us streamline and master our must haves for family beach trips. Today I’m rounding up the items we make sure to have ready to go for a day by the water! Since it’s the start of beach season here I decided to use our Walmart+ membership and take advantage of their quick shipping to re-stock our supplies. One of my favorite benefits of the Walmart+ membership is free delivery from your store ($35 minimum, restrictions apply). As a busy mom I’m always looking for tools to help me save time and getting what we need delivered to our doorstep is a game changer!

I love Sun Bum sunscreen for Brian and I and always use Thinkbaby or Babo Botanicals on the girls. Don’t forget the face sunscreen stick — it’s makes application on their faces much quicker and easier! I also picked up the Hello Bello spray to try this year for easy application throughout the day when they don’t want to sit still for a lotion re-apply.

All the sand toys and snacks are of course coming with us too! This sand toy set has everything they need and an easy mesh bag to keep everything together. We’ve learned to always pack more snacks than we think we’ll need — kids are bottomless pits! I used the free delivery from our store ($35 minimum, restrictions apply) to load up our snack bag. Uncrustables, pirates booty, fresh fruit and lots of water are typically always with us.

Additional benefits that your Walmart+ membership gives you:

  • saves you member prices of 5¢ per gallon at Walmart and Murphy stations.
  • mobile scan & go so you can easily checkout on your phone and be out the door even quicker
  • Walmart+ free shipping from Walmart.com. No order minimum required, so you can get items shipped as often as you need — for free (excludes freight & Marketplace items).

Two small things that make such a difference on the beach are a large water bottle or jug filled with fresh water to rinse off little hands. Before hopping in the car I sprinkle this dusting powder on both of the girls legs and feet to remove sand! In the car we keep a regular diaper to change Elle into and an easy change of clothes (usually a dress or lightweight set) for them both so they’re not sitting in wet bathing suits in the carseat.
