Over the past few months I’ve been traveling frequently for work. Growing up I loved everything about staying in hotels. Anytime we went on vacation my brother and I couldn’t wait to get to where we were staying and peruse the property. Fast forward to trips taken for work and they somehow don’t hold the same appeal; perhaps in part because I don’t have my little brother with me to play hide and seek throughout the hotel with…just a hunch.
I’ve found that bringing along a few key items make the room instantly feel more like home. After an exhausting day full of appointments and meetings here’s what helps me unwind in the hotel room:

1. Voluspa Travel Candle : to get rid of that stale hotel room smell of course. (I think the housekeepers enjoy the candle as much as I do)
2.Tazo Calm Tea Bags : there’s usually a place I can find hot water in the hotel restaurant or a small coffee stand by the front desk. Perfect ending to a hectic day.
3. Bumble & Bumble travel size shampoo/conditioner : while some hotels have great products, I still like to bring smaller versions of my own. You never know what kind of samples they have (and honestly, why take the chance?)
4. 525 america reversible striped cardigan : this recent purchase of mine has come in handy more times than I can count. I like the room to be freezing at night, but until I’m snuggled under the covers I keep this amazingly soft cardigan wrapped around me.
What do you like to bring with you when you travel?
