After a recent trip to LA I’ve again fallen in love with exposed ceilings. While visiting some family friends I was reminded how striking they were when I walked in their front door and saw the wooden beams in contrast to the stark white ceiling. There’s just something so casually chic about looking up and seeing something besides a flat surface looming above my head.

No matter what room it’s found it, it effortlessly adds an element of depth and creativity to the living space that I just can’t get enough of.

I’d gladly follow these images in any of my rooms…

i’m not sure what it is about them, but i love exposed ceilings too! the more industrial-looking the better!! although the big beams that make the last photo look like an old barn are really pretty too <3shelby

Oh I love the 1st and last pictures. That chandelier adds such a nice touch to the room. And wow on that last picture! I usually see exposed beams closer to the ceiling, but I love how it hangs further down and the ceilings are soaring. WONDERFUL post!

Love the first one, it’s like a rustic box beam. I’m infatuated with them too. I feel like you don’t completely notice until you look up and it’s a whole separate room to look at!

I used to think exposed ceilings were beautiful only for high ceilings, but the third picture seems to break my rule!
