One of my favorite things about traveling for work is getting to check out the various shops and restaurants in all the little (and big) towns that I get to visit. Instead of choosing the chain restaurants I typically look for the little hole in the wall or a hidden gem that locals swear by. Yesterday I was south of Atlanta in Griffin, GA and had lunch at the cutest little restaurant– Mill Towne Gourmet. It’s off their main street and I say that lightly. It’s a small southern town, so you can imagine their main street may remind you of your smaller, off the beaten path road.
The inside is small but packed with character {ie: original stamped tin ceiling}. Southern flare seemed to be around every corner and I couldn’t get enough of it. Sweet tea in giant pitchers with handwritten labels, the daily special on a nearby chalkboard and a pastry case full of homemade sweets. The food was incredible and their balsamic dressing? Beyond! If you like pimento cheese, their grilled pimento cheese sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had!
It’s southern in a nutshell 🙂

If you follow me on Instagram (ateale) you may have seem this incredible meal!

Any local hometown favorites that you have?
I’d love to add them to my to-try list!

What a cute little find! I love finding places like that. I’m planning on going to Atlanta this year so I’ll have to keep that on my list 🙂

I love Mill Towne! I eat there every once in awhile while traveling to Atlanta; BTW, I live in Macon, just about 1.5 hours S of Atlanta. Buckners is also out of this world and is located near Griffen. I’m a new follower and love your blog.
