If you’ve been reading Turquoise & Teale for a while, you’ve likely noticed how important it is to me to support local, small businesses and the community as a whole. I’m sure each of us can think back to a time when we’ve volunteered for a cause we believed in. My close group of best friends aims to get together once a year, typically around the holidays, and pick an organization that we want to invest in. We’re all blessed in a multitude of ways and selflessly giving up your time to serve others is one of the best gifts you can give. I urge y’all to grab your friends, co-workers or your family and make it goal to give back to your community in some way, big or small, in 2016.
I’ve teamed up with Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company to help raise awareness for their Band Together campaign. From now until July 31st, Jewelers Mutual will be donating $2 million to three core causes — health, home and hunger.
To help decide how the funds are distributed, you can vote daily for one of the three following organizations: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. The organization with the most votes will get $1 million, the runner up will get $700,00 and the third place winner will get $300,000.
By casting your vote, you’ll be entered to win a weekly jewelry price from STACKED New York. Every week one winner will win a set of three stacking bands valued at $450!
