Podcasts are one of my favorite ways to pass the time when traveling in the car for work, when doing laundry or cleaning around the house, or anytime I have at least 30 minutes of time that I can multi-task! Serial is what initially got me into podcasts when it debuted a few years ago, but the ones I listen to most frequently now are all either about business, health & wellness or motivational.
Below are the 5 shows that I listen to regularly and episodes that were standout favorites. All of these are so inspiring and leave you feeling motivated to better yourself, your work or your health.
The mindbodygreen Podcast: If you’re into health and wellness this podcast library is filled with amazing interviews with leading medical professionals, health minded business founders and the trends that are happening in the fitness, health, self-help and environmental realm. I always learn so much from these episodes!
favorite episodes: ‘the sweetgreen founders’, ‘Daily Harvest’, ‘Tata Harper’, ‘John Mackey, Whole Foods Market’
Second Life: Second Life focuses on interviews with badass women in business who made major career changes and are now living their ‘second life’ in new industries. These episodes are so fun to listen to and I’ve loved learning how many amazing companies have been started by women (#girlpower)- and in totally different industries than they originally started in!
favorite episodes:’Whitney Tingle: Sakara co-founder’, ‘Aimee Song’, ‘Alli Webb: Drybar Founder’,
How I Built This: Similar to Second Life, but this one isn’t strictly women founders. Think interviews on the successes and struggles along the journey of some well-known brands like Away Luggage, Five Guys burgers, Soul Cycle, Whole Foods, etc.
favorite episodes: ‘Away: Jen Rubio’, ‘Peloton: John Foley’, ‘SoulCycle: Julie Rice & Elizabeth Cutler’, ‘Barre3: Sadie Lincoln’, ‘Real Estate Mogul: Barbara Corcoran
The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast: I can remember listening to Lauren and Michael’s very first episode when they were just starting the podcast. They’ve come so far since then and have really interesting and outside the box interviews! I love that they’re not afraid to ask taboo questions and share great tips along the way. Their banter always has me laughing!
favorite episodes: ‘Ed Mylett’, ‘Nick Green- CEO Thrive Market’, both episodes of Dr. Dennis Gross
Ed Mylett Show: I discovered Ed through The Skinny Confidential’s podcast and have been hooked ever since. You feel motivated just listening to one of his episodes. He has episodes as short as 5 minutes if you just need a quick boost of motivation, or longer interviews with incredible athletes, entrepreneurs and leaders.
favorite episodes: ‘Jesse Itzler- The Success Formula’, ‘Secrets to Becoming a Better Listener’
There are countless more that I’ve loved and felt inspired by, but these are my recent favorites. I’d love to know what y’all are listening to and loving!
