Favorite Baby Items / Turquoise and Teale

Hellooo 2020! 4 months in with two little ones and we’re finally hitting our groove. When making a list of our favorite baby items the second time around, majority of them are ones we used and loved with Olivia! Before making registries and purchases I usually spend far too long researching the pros and cons for various items, but I also rarely regret many purchases because of it. I can say the same thing about our wedding registry! While I know every baby is different, these 10 items are our tried and true – through two kids – baby products that I would recommend in a heartbeat. They’ve helped us get better stretches of sleep at night, opportunities to shower (a rarity in those first few brutal weeks) and given us the gift of being handsfree. It’s hard to believe how fast it’s going this time around. Fight through the exhaustion and cherish those newborn moments. xx

Babybjorn Carrier Mini: I wish so badly that I’d had this with Olivia! It is an absolute gamechanger and something I couldn’t have done without the past 4 months. I use this when traveling, grocery runs, short beach walks, all the time! I have other carriers, but they’re not nearly as easy to quickly put on and get baby in (with a crying baby every second matters- ha!).

Lollipop Monitor: loving this monitor sooo much more than our old one! We have one in each of the girls’ rooms and I love how easy it is to install, use and travel with. There isn’t a traditional monitor screen to look at, but you use an app on your phone (we use an old iPad for babysitters). I’ve loved being able to check in on the girls when traveling and we even brought it with us to the Keys last week. All we had to do was connect to the wifi there and we were ready to go!

Sound Machine: the dohm machine and hatch rest+ are the top two that I’d recommend! I love that the new hatch rest+ has a clock and that it can be controlled by an app on our phones! The light is easily adjustable and was perfect for those middle of the night feedings with Elle.

Bobby Lounger/Dock a Tot: I couldn’t choose between these two! It’s so important to have safe places to keep those tiny babies and these were lifesavers for us! We kept the dockatot upstairs and the bobby lounger downstairs. Keep it easy on yourself and have something on each floor so you’re not having to carry things back and forth all day.

Love to Dream Swaddle: the best best best swaddle! We made sure to have 3 of these so we were never without! One being used, one in the wash and one clean one ready to go was the best way to handle it. I absolutely love that these have zippers from the bottom and made middle of the night changes so much easier. Easily one of my top 3 favorite baby items. We also used their transition sack when we were dropping the swaddle.

Ubbi Diaper Pail: 2.5 years later and still going strong with this diaper pail! We’ve never had issues with the smells permeating the room and have always just used regular “tall” trash bags. I do air it out occasionally and leave it empty outside on our porch, for a day.

Keekaroo: I’m convinced babies just know to pee when you’re mid-diaper change. You can’t beat being able to easily wipe down this changing pad for a quick clean up! You don’t need the extra laundry to clean, I promise.

Babybjorn Bouncer: Possibly my #1 favorite item… I can’t recommend this bouncer enough! It’s easy to move from room to room (great for right outside the shower when you need to take one & have the baby nearby!), lightweight and can breakdown flat for travel or storage. Also super easy to clean! Just wash in the cold cycle and hang dry. note: if I had to do it again I wouldn’t get the grey mesh version…. trust me on this one…

Newton Mattress: I researched crib mattresses ad nauseam before Olivia arrived and am still so happy with the Newton one we purchased. The breathability is incredible and you can actually wash the entire cover and mattress itself. I top it with a muslin crib sheet, but you don’t even need a sheet at all! 1000% worth the price.

Infant Bathtub: keep it simple when it comes to bath time. We’ve used this with both girls and it remains a favorite. Add a suction cup hook to the back of your shower and you have an easy place to store and dry it after use!

Did you use the love to dream swaddle right from the beginning with the girls?

Yes — from the day we brought them home! I wish we’d remembered to bring it to the hospital with us too. It’s SO easy!

Yes to all of these on the list. I think we need to order the Lollipop because I keep hearing such great things. Hope you’re enjoying those sweet baby snuggles and happy new year!

That baby bjorn bouncer is a MUST HAVE! We have definitely gotten our money’s worth out of it in our house between the two kids. My oldest loved the Love 2 Dream swaddles, but my son is hating them which is such a bummer!

Thank you so much for these baby lists! I am pregnant with my first and used your lists so much as a registry guide! For the Keekaroo, do you put any changing pads or anything between it and the baby? Or just put baby right on the keekaroo?

So glad it was helpful! 🙂 For the Keekaroo you just put them directly on it! No changing pads to clean and you can just wipe the Keekaroo down anytime it’s needed!
