I have the habit of picking up maps whenever I travel. Bike maps, subway maps, ski trails, you name it and I’ve got them. I always intended to do something fabulous with them once I get back home but they always seem to get shoved in a drawer or stored away in a box in my closet collecting dust.
In my new apt I have a large wall space behind my couch and decided that this was the perfect area for my maps to make their grand debut. Some simple black frames and these puppies were good to go.
Here are some other map inspired projects I can’t wait to try:

Looks like I’ll just have to fill my 2011 calendar with lots of travel arrangements so I can make all of the above and then some!
Girl that looks wonderful! I have a few vintage maps that I am wanting to do the same with… guess this is a sign I need to! Thanks for sharing– super cute couch with pillows set-up you got goin on!
What a neat post! The photos look great.
I love maps too! They look so great above the sofa. I also really like the coasters and picture border!
I collect maps too! Not on purpose but I seem to forget that I have them and/or forget to give them back to the hotel or friends, haha
I love what you did with your maps- it’s a nice little reminder of your travels (unfortunately it probably gives you a major dose of wanderlust too!)
xx
p.s. I adore your pillows too- geometric prints are to die for!
Thanks for visiting my blog today which brought me to yours! I love maps, too. I could look at them for hours at a time! I just became your newest follower!

That looks SO awesome over your couch! We normally keep maps and stubs from trips too – you just inspired me to do something with them when we get back from our trip! Your blog is precious – thanks for stopping by mine!
wonderful ideas.
Thanks for stopping by my blog this week.
Those are great ideas. In our first apt out of college we framed a map of Charleston for some instant art. I keep on thinking I want to replicate it but in a much bigger scale and in black and white.
