How is next week already Thanksgiving?? Normally I have no problem waiting until after the holiday to put up Christmas decor, but this year I’m itching to start putting the tree together, turn on holiday tunes and watch Christmas movies. Anyone else with me on this? Brian just started a new rotation where he finally has both weekend days off and we’re both pumped to have actual weekends again! We’re testing out a new dinner spot tomorrow night with friends, (attempt) sleeping in and getting our bags packed for Charleston and Greenville next week. I’m obviously mapping out my Black Friday/Cyber Monday picks too. Here’s to hoping I’ll get it all done early this year! I’ll be sharing my favorite online shops and their deals next week.

Q & A:
How did you and B meet?
Brian and I met like any good southerner would, while watching college football one Saturday afternoon in Charleston, SC. We were both at a mutual friend’s house — they were watching Clemson and I was the only one trying to turn the UGA game on. I brought over some homemade chocolate chip cookies (always key) and the rest was history. Kidding, kind of. We went on a haunted house date later that week and were pretty much inseparable after that. Two months later I moved to Charlotte, NC for work and we started the 3 years of long distance before we finally both got to call Atlanta home!
What’s your day job?
In college I majored in PR and thought for sure that’s where I was headed. Two summers spent interning in NYC and while I loved it, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to work for myself and choose where I wanted to move. My family and I are all independent contract sales reps and work with interior designers to furnish commercial properties. Hotels, restaurants, country clubs, anything but residential properties. It’s something I told myself I’d never do growing up, but now couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity. My territory is GA, AL, SC and NC and I drive to every appointment in those 4 states.
pros: working from home, making your own schedule, working with fun, creative designers / cons: no company expense accounts. It’s all funded out-of-pocket (travel, presentations, accommodations), work never really stops.
Where do you shop for wardrobe staples/basics?
While I’m willing to pay more for a wardrobe piece that I know will get serious Face-time, I’m also all about a good deal. A few favorite pieces: Splendid tee’s, J.Crew button-ups, Rag & Bone jeans (the best- worth it!). During the big sales at Shopbop, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales I always pick up some of these pieces since I know they’ll be worn and a purchase I won’t regret. You also can’t beat some basic tee’s from GAP and Old Navy for budget friendly options!

I couldn’t wait any longer on the decorations and since we’re traveling next week I got them all up this week – just have to decorate the trees over the weekend. You enjoy the season as long as you can, right?! I had the best time reading that VS show recap – such fun little details.
Your Q&A thing was so fun! I had fun learning more about you. 🙂 YAY to Brian having two weekends off in a row too!! That has to feel amazing. Also, have you heard of this app called Vivino? Chris uses it all of the time. You can take a picture of a bottle of wine and find out more about it. It’s rating, flavors, reviews and other things. We’ve found some great wines thanks to that app. Thanks for sharing your faves this week and have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
Im SO excited to start decorating for the holidays!! i have been listening to christmas music non-stop. xo jillian

Loving the Q&A. Your job sounds really exciting; I’m trying to reposition my career towards more of a creative field. There are pros, but a lot of cons are similar with the crazy hours and travel.
I definitely have to check out that link for the best doughnuts in every state, and I can’t wait for the VS fashion show to air next month. Thanks for sharing this Q&A. I am currently working from home and love the flexibility it offers, but I do miss company perks!
Hope you enjoy your weekend!
