Hi friends! Back with my monthly favorites post to share what I used, discovered and loved in September. There were so many good finds that I couldn’t wait to share with y’all. Without further ado….
HOME:
Safavieh Stripe Rug: I wanted to layer two rugs on our front porch and ordered this larger stripe one to put under the circular mat. It’s held up through wind and rain on our porch with no problem and it looks like it’d be easy to toss in the wash if needed.
Katherine Freeman Art: if you’re looking for a new artist to get excited about, meet Katherine Freeman. Her canvas and prints are so effortlessly beautiful and can work in so many different spaces. This print is currently finding a home somewhere in our house — just need to decide the perfect spot!
The Last Mrs. Parrish book: stop what you’re doing and add this book to your reading list asap! I couldn’t put this book down. It was so crazy… there were numerous times I said outloud “no way… this is insane”.
FOOD:
Trader Joe’s Apple Cider Donuts: these will save you an extra trip to the apple orchard and taste just as good for only $3.99. I’ve only actually seen these in our TJ’s once since they seem to fly off the shelves as soon as they get re-stocked. I also love that they’re made by a family-owned bakery in Massachusetts!
Fig + Avocado + Arugula Grilled Cheese: my mom made this for me when I was at their house for lunch one day and it’s so insanely good. You can easily switch out any white cheese that you have on hand, but I can confirm that goat cheese and white cheddar are both standout favorites. To make a sandwich, add a layer of sliced fresh figs, avocado slices, arugula and a white cheese of your choice. Grill until the cheese is melted and enjoy!
RXBAR kids: RXBAR sent over this kids variety pack of their bars and I’ve been having them as a mid-day snack a few times a week. I like that these are smaller than the standard bars (great for when you don’t want something as big or filling) but still pack 7g of protein and 3g of fiber. The flavors are all delicious! I found these bars to be a little softer than their normals bars.
BEAUTY/FASHION:
Trader Joe’s Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Hair Mask:I try and use a hair mask 1-2 times a week to give my strands some extra TLC for handling heat and styling tools. This mask left my strands feeling super soft and hydrated! I used it from ear level to the ends and leave it on while shaving my legs. Also a major score at only $3.99!
Gold Penny Loafers: if you saw me sharing these on instagram stories, you know I couldn’t stop raving about them! They did take me a day to wear in, but they honestly feel like I’m walking on clouds. I love the little added height they give and they’re so fun and different from any others shoes in my closet. They ran TTS for me!
SN Slouchy Pullover Sweater: the second the temperature drops I’m putting this sweater on! It’s not itchy at all and has the perfect oversized fit. It definitely runs larger for the oversized fit, so keep that in mind when choosing a size. I have it in an extra-small and it’s still roomy.
Lou & Grey Layering tee: softest.tee.ever. This is going to be one of the shirts I reach for weekly for layering under sweaters, cardigans or just to pair with jeans and an oversized scarf. I picked it up in size small in two colors and haven’t had any issues with piling like 1 reviewer mentioned.
BABY:
Munchkin Stainless Steel Snack Catcher: this is our attempt at slowing Olivia down while snacking and preventing her from stuffing endless pieces of Pirates Booty into her mouth all at once. Oh yes,and to keep them from spilling everywhere too! Love that this is stainless steel, easy to clean and has a cover lid that easily snaps in place for tossing into my bag on the go.
Bentgo Lunch Box: I don’t know why I didn’t order this one earlier. Packing this lunch box is so much easier than using multiple storage containers! We use this for the beach, pool, car trips and if we’re headed out to eat and want to bring something from home for Olivia.
Avanchy Bamboo Bowl + Spoon set: we’re still working on mastering silverware, but this bowl and spoon set have been a great tool. The suction capability of the bowl helps it from flying off of the highchair and the soft spoon makes it gentle enough for little mouths. This would be a great addition to a baby registry or given as a shower gift!
Baby Einstein Music Activity Table: my brother gave Olivia this for her birthday and over the past two months it’s easily become one of her favorite toys. There are multiple instruments to “play”, the option of English, Spanish or French language and it identifies both colors and numbers. She loves to jam out on this!
Baby Stride Rite Sneaker: why is it so hard to find cute girl shoes? I just wanted something simple that would go with a variety of outfits and not be covered in glitter or be neon pink. These were what I was able to come up with and Olivia loves them! Like, made me put them on her as soon as we unboxed them. They’re great for beginning walkers and run TTS. All of the big sneakers I liked didn’t start until size 4 and as a size 3 these were a great option for Olivia!
xx
Ashley, I love that you have shared all your September favorites! There are several items here that I must try – especially the cider donuts and the hair mask! On my list to TJ’s!
Big fan of RX bars. THey are the best.
That print is just gorgeous!! And I like the sound of the snack bars – I need something new to nibble on in the afternoons…I’m getting tired of my same old go-to snacks lol
