Two years into our Charleston home and I finally had our dining room drapes fabricated and installed! Like most homeowners, I feel like we have an endless list of projects around the house to take care of. With spending so much time at home due to quarantine, it’s really given me the extra motivation to tackle the spaces I’ve been wanting to finish!
While I tend to gravitate towards a light and neutral color palette, I was really craving some color in our dining area. The second I came across Thibaut’s Tiverton in color ‘spa blue’ I knew it was the one. We had the drapes made with a two finger pleat at the top, a solid white lining on the back and used one of my favorite curtain rod styles – the french return. The drapes completely change the look of the space — it’s exactly what I had in mind.
For the dining chairs we recovered the original grey seat cushions with Thibaut’s Aura in ‘ ice blue’, a crypton fabric that works amazing in any high traffic areas. What makes crypton fabric such a game-changer is the fact that liquids don’t permeate it and instead bead up on the surface. It’s incredible for kids, pets and really anyone since it makes cleaning a breeze!
To find a showroom that carries Thibaut fabrics by you, this is a great resource! You don’t have to be in the trade to purchase these fabrics. Oftentimes retailers can order them for you!
