It feels so good to say that we’ve (finally) finished replacing our interior doors! When we started this project I had no idea it was going to take 5 months to complete, but like all good things it takes time and this was absolutely worth it. Our home was built in the 1970s and we knew that we wanted to replace the interior doors once we moved in last November. A classic shaker door has always been one of my favorite styles and I knew it would help freshen up the home, while still keeping the space traditional.
For years I’ve been eyeing Emtek’s beautiful hardware and couldn’t wait to use them on our new home. We used the Old Town Knob on a rectangular rosette in the ‘french antique’ finish for all bedroom and bathroom doors, along with one closet by the front door that I felt deserved an extra bit of sparkle. These glass knobs are the jewelry that really transform the doors. They make me smile every time I see them!
For all closet and side exterior doors throughout the home we used the Providence Knob on a rectangular rosette also in the ‘french antique’ finish. I wanted the main entry doors to stand out, while the doors inside the room complemented them in a more casual way. I love how the Providence knob makes even a pantry door feel elevated and special!
We swapped out our entry door to the french antique colorway of the Jefferson Tublar Entry paired with the Merrimack lever on the interior. For the french doors in our living room and playroom we also used the Merrimack lever to keep the style consistent throughout.
