St. Louis Street

Last week was one of those that you never wanted to end. Brian and I took advantage of his week vacation and headed down to New Orleans for a few days. Excuse the iPhone pictures, but it’s all I carried with me this week. Thank you to everyone that sent in recommendations of things to do! We both loved the charm that the city offered and all of the amazing food!

Grilled OysterChargrilled oysters from Acme Oyster House were not to be missed.

photo 3We rode streetcars all around town and explored historic cemeteries, the beautiful garden district and for some light shopping.

New Orleans Favorites:

to eat:
Irene’s (the best homemade lasagna!)
Acme Oyster House  (chargrilled oysters)
GW Fins (delicious fresh fish)
Three Muses  (great live music while you eat)
Cafe du Monde (of course)

to do:
We avoided the freezing temps one afternoon and headed to the Lowe’s hotel for a day of pampering
Spend $3 and get the streetcar pass for the day
Head to the garden district and walk up and down all the nearby streets to view the beautiful old homes
Take a cemetery with French Quarter Phantoms. We scored a great Groupon deal and the tour was really interesting!
Live music at d.b.a

Part two of the week, my best friend’s wedding!

photo 3We spent the day getting ready in the coziest monogrammed pajamas.

photo 5The most beautiful bride. Can we take a minute to talk about her fabulous fur coat that was her great grandmothers? Amazing.

GW Fins is always our favorite place for dinner whenever we go to NOLA. Their Scalibut (scallops seared into halibut) I still dream about it and even tried to make it once at home but it just wasn’t the same. You looked stunning girl and that vintage fur coat is major swoon factor!

What a great week! Your best friend was a stunning bride – that is so neat that her fur coat was her great grandmother’s. You looked beautiful, too! Good choice of bridesmaid dress. And, those monogrammed pj’s? Adorable. Happy Monday, friend! xo

Your friend’s wedding dress is GORGEOUS!! The whole wedding looks absolutely beautiful. And can I just say how jealous I am of your bridesmaid dress. It’s so pretty and classic. I would wear that again in a heartbeat, unlike the one i have to wear for my cousin’s wedding. And I need to go visit NOLA asap based on these photos.
