grain free paleo meatballs

It wasn’t until a bachelorette party in Chicago at RPM that I became a fan of meatballs. I despise meatloaf, but now am a converted meatball lover. When I saw this recipe featured on Elise’s blog, I knew I had to make it soon. If you’re doing Whole 30 this works for you too! I never thought to sub veggies for the filling in meatballs, but it works so well and these are beyond good. We served ours over ‘zoodles’ and organic tomato basil sauce. The recipe made a ton, so be prepared for leftovers (who ever complains about those?!).

Grain Free Meatballs
via primally inspired

ingredients:
1 lb ground pork
1 lb ground turkey
1 cup onion, diced finely
1 cup mushrooms, diced
2 tbsp chopped basil
2 tbsp oregano
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 egg
1/4 c  parmesan cheese (leave out for Whole 30)
red pepper flakes
salt and pepper, to taste

directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Shape mixture into desired sizes and place on a baking sheet. Bake for approx 30 minutes or until thoroughly cooked

Enjoy!xx

AAHHHH, I know exactly what you mean about meatballs. I could live without meat entirely but after having the meatballs at RPM Italian I found myself looking at meatball recipes. So out of character for me!!! I can’t wait to try this recipe 🙂

omgosh RPM kind of ruins meatballs for everyone – you either fall in love with this food you used to hate or you probably can’t eat any other besides theirs! (i fall firmly into the first camp) If you’re ever back in chicago, their burrata is also the most amazing one i’ve ever had. like absolutely hands down. now i’m starving, someone should also try to recreate their zucchini fritti. or i should just go back…….
