blue diamond riviera maya

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw that for the 4th of July holiday my family and I headed to vacation in the Riviera Maya. Brian was unfortunately stuck in Atlanta for work training and couldn’t join us, but it was so nice to be able to take a family vacation the four of us. We called the beautiful Blue Diamond resort home for the week and pictures won’t do the grounds justice.

Blue Diamond Mexico rooms

We stayed in the patio junior suites and the space was beautiful. An entire wall of windows that led out to a private patio by the river made for gorgeous natural lighting. There’s also an amazing outdoor bathtub that the concierge will fill up for you.

When it comes to all-inclusive resorts I always research like crazy to see how the food is. No one wants to go somewhere with bad food that they’ve already paid for. The meals served oceanside were consistently delicious. Fresh salads, flavorful ceviche and tasty fish tacos (get the homemade guacamole and pico!) were some of our favorites. For dinner, we ate at Ambar, where the vibe was casual elegance. Not once did we have a bad meal.

Blue Diamond is the type of resort that you stay at when you’re really looking to unwind and relax. There won’t be a raging bar to hit up late night (on the hotel grounds), but there’s a great little cigar bar for after dinner drinks. The Ambar restaurant had live music during dinner a few nights, and we’d typically linger after dinner with a cocktail and dessert to enjoy the tunes. I came back re-charged and ready to hit the ground running. Just what a vacation is meant for.

If you’re heading down to the Riviera Maya I’d be more than happy to help with any questions!

xx

That is just stunning! I bet you guys had the best time. Our honeymoon {5 years ago} was at a resort in Riviera Maya and it was the best vacation I’ve ever had. Happy Monday!

I’m always hesitant to stay all-inclusive exactly for the reason you mentioned, the food, so it’s great to hear a good review on this one! I’ve been wanting to plan a big family trip to Mexico and all-inclusive really is easier sometimes with large groups, so I’ll have to remember this one!

Off there in a few weeks, for a fortnight. Can you comment on the beach; sandy, shallow and good for swimming or is the pool the place to head for?
