Healthy Dressing Recipes
Salad dressing is something that can add so much unnecessary added fat to an otherwise healthy meal or side dish. With the exception of a few store bought options, I usually make my own and find that they’re better tasting and I know exactly what ingredients are in them. Here’s a list of my tried and true dressings that will add flavor without ruining a healthy dish:

STORE BOUGHT:

Tessemae’s: so many good options by this brand. The organic green goddess, organic lemon garlic and organic creamy ranch are usually always in our fridge. Their organic bbq sauce is my go-to anytime we’re having barbecue and the ranch pairs great with salads, pizza and wings (#manapproved). Tons of Whole 30 approved options from this brand too!

Trader Joe’s Green Goddess Dressing: simple ingredients, creamy texture and such good flavor.


HOMEMADE:

Olive Oil + Lemon: if I just want something light, I drizzle olive oil (a good quality olive oil tastes so much better than standard cooking oil– worth paying more for and you can tell the difference!) over the greens and finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon.

Oil + Vinegar: basic olive oil and balsamic vinegar is what I usually order whenever dining out — or at home and want a little more of a bold flavor with the balsamic vinegar.

GOES WITH ANYTHING DRESSING:

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tbsp minced shallot
1 small garlic clove, minced
little less than 1/2 cup olive oil
salt &  pepper, to taste

mix together first 4 ingredients, slowly whisk in the olive oil and then season with salt and pepper to taste

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR DRESSING:

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
2 tsp dijon mustard
1 tbsp garlic, minced
salt & pepper, to taste

combine all ingredients in a jar and shake to combine
