Master Bedroom Design

Who remembers when I shared my original primary bedroom design almost two years ago? Would you believe I just got the final pieces, the two nightstands, in after a lengthy backorder? All that to say, when you find a piece you love it’s worth the wait, I promise! On a positive note, I can really speak to the quality of the other items in the room that we’ve had installed and loved.

For me, the showstopper in this room is the large ines blue rug that ties everything all together. The quality is fantastic (as is all of the rugs we have by Annie Selke!) and still looks brand new even with two young kids and a large dog constantly walking on it. For the bed I knew I wanted an upholstered one and the Kennedy in ‘french blue’ makes me smile every time I see it. I’m regularly asked about the construction of the bed and if I’d recommend it, and I’d absolutely purchase it again. The french blue linen fabric is a beautiful texture and color and it pairs perfectly with the ines rug.

The Visual Comfort lamps in ‘ice blue’  are substantial in size and I love the impact they make on the nightstands. Each lamp has an adjustable dimmer and it’s such a great feature — especially when reading before bed. Since they’re large, 31.25″ high, they’re perfect on a larger chest like the Marilyn. Majority of the reason I waited so long for this particular chest is the three drawers for added storage and the small hidden drawer on the top that’s ideal for charging cords (there’s an opening in the back that allows the cord to be plugged in behind the piece), books, magazines, etc.

For bedding our go-to sheets for years have been the signature sheet set . They truly get softer with each wash and I use this detergent every week on them for the perfect, subtle scent. On top we have the pawling coverlet and the eyelet duvet folded at the end of the bed. This waffle blanket is a perfect extra layer to add on during the colder months. My secret to white bedding (and really any white fabrics in our home), is this bleach alternative and stain solution that keeps everything bright and clean. Once you try them you’ll never use anything else — this kit is the way to go!

details: the framed art above the bed is by Liz Thompson via Tuckahoe Home. I’ve used these curtain rods and drapery rings in various spots throughout our home and the price can’t be beat!

I also shared a reel of the space over on instagram!
